About This Item
New York: Random House, 1976. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/very good +. Octavo, 214pp. A slightly musty and shaken copy, overall in good condition only, in a very good or better dust jacket, a bit tanned along the extremities, but with no notable wear. This copy is SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Wilson on the front free endpaper, and surprisingly scarce thus: "For Paul, warm regards and thanks. Colin. Sept 76." Though a less than wonderful copy, this is a scarce chance to own a signed copy of the first American edition, which preceded the UK edition by a few months.
Reviews
On Mar 5 2008, Fict said:
This was an enjoyable read. Had the author been any other than Colin Wilson, it would have been far less entertaining.
On Mar 3 2008, Warren's Books said:
When Captain Carlsen entered a derelict spaceship he discovered immobilized humanoid passengers. the creatures were energy vampires whose seductive embraces were fatal. Captain Carlson worked towards their destruction, but he was erotically drawn to the most beautiful vampire of all.
There are difficult names that slow down a rather quick erotically pleasant gory read.

About Cleveland Book Company
We are proud members of the ABAA.
As a small, independent bookseller in Cleveland, Ohio, I deal in general used, rare, and antiquarian books, autographs, manuscripts, pamphlets, and personal and family papers in all subjects. My family has been in the antiquarian book business since 1971. Are you moving, downsizing, or doing some spring cleaning? Did you inherit or otherwise come into some old books? Or, maybe you've collected modern novels from the last thirty or fifty years. No matter what kinds of books you have, we'd love to take a look at them! We travel throughout Ohio, western Pennsylvania and New York, southern Michigan, and eastern Indiana, and will travel farther in some cases to look at whole libraries or even just a few particularly interesting books. Give us a call at (216) 352-3940 and we can talk more about the kinds of books you have.
