About This Item
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1936. Stated first edition. Good copy in a chipped dustjacket. A history of the events leading to the Spanish Civil War which started in July 1936. Examines the interests of Germany, Italy and the Catholic Church as well as those of the communists, socialists, anarchists and loyalists. Orange cloth printed in maroon, black and yellow dustjacket. The book has some edge rubbing and discoloration to the spine that appears to be from the binding glue, good hinges, sound text block, unevenly age-toned endpapers, clean pages free from names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and has quite a bit of edgewear, and numerous small chips but fairly little paper loss.. First Edition. Hard Cover.
