Philiadelphia: Henry T.Coates & Co., 1895. Two volume octovo set bound in original dark blue, elaborately gilt stamped, publishers cloth. Illustrated with numerous full page photogravure plates, each with lettered tissue guard intact. Color folding map present at end of volime II. Red cloth ribbon markes bound into each volume. Top edges gilt. First edition thus by this publisher. Translated from the 10th edition of the Italian by Stanley Rhoads Yarnall. Small, viantage booksellers label at lower gutter of each front end-paper. A well preserved set, gilt bright, corners square, cloth clean. Interior in excellent condition with no foxing to plates or text. A fine set.. First Thus. Decorative Cloth. Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
