About This Item

Boston: Charles E. Lauriat Coy, 1925. First American Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Fine/Very Good. Thick 8vo. Pp. 304. Illustrated with 21 photographic plates. Four charts. Old bookseller tag on rear pastedown (E. S. McCawley & Co., Haverford, PA). Bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering on spine. In the dust jacket that shows shallow chips at spine and corners. A handsome, presentable copy. First American edition, from the British sheets. Although lacking publication date, the first edition was published in London (Hurst and Blackett) in 1924. As such, we posit 1925 as the likely date for this edition. Author's account of more than forty years of sailing in the Winnie, a small 9-ton sailboat. Dust jacket is now enclosed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
