Large 8vo.; quarter parchment with gilt paper-covered boards; with title gilt down the spine; and with the uncommon plain gilt wrapper; this is number 407 of 725 copies, with seven original engravings on copper; the engravings are the Title page; Head-piece to the first Ode; Cupid or the Cunning Beggar (for the third Ode); Bathyllus (for the 26th Ode); Europa (for the 32nd Ode); Venus engrav'd on a Dish (for the 28th Ode), Tail -piece to the last Ode; all engravings are protected with tissue guards.~~The first of fourteen books illustrated by Stephen Gooden; the wrapper has some small chips, a bit of tape repair, and is crumbled at the bottom edge of the front panel; it is uncommon.
