Gold cover plate and title in gilt on front cover. Rubbed at extremities and corners bumped. Binding is sound. Interior is unmarked. Upper page edges toned. Lacking dustjacket. Quarto. 'In the development of the work of The American Specification Institute, the publication of the Specification Record has been undertaken not only to give permancence to many of the results achieved since its organization but also to form a basis for an encyclopedia of specifications.... In [the book] on page 19, there is focused the fundamental theories of a specification. This bulletin is termed the <> for specifications, is the first known measure of these important documents and in use during the past nine years has given ample proof of its value.... On page 11 there will be found <> in which there appears some of the philosophy of specification writing. The user of the Specification Record will find the search for informative data simplified to the extent that all information on a particular subject, with very few exceptions, appears within one general subdivision.'
