Near fine. 520 pp, with frontis portrait of the author, bibliography, and index, in original navy cloth with gilt titles, top edge gilt. No dust jacket. Slight wear to extremities, else fine. Edited by Dana's son, this posthumous collection includes essays and speeches on legal and political topics, among them the Bible in schools, usury, the free soil party, fugitive slave laws, and the Monroe Doctrine.
