London: Printed by James Young, for O.P. 1653. First English edition, 12mo (139 x 80 mm), [36], 211, [3]pp., first and last leaves blank (here lacking), title printed within a ornamental border, lower portion shaved into lower portion of ornamental border, small repair to lower outer corner, some light foxing but a very good copy, recent black morocco, spine with six compartments, red morocco label lettered in gilt to second, others with a single cross tool. Heyden's work first appeared in French at Ghent in 1645 and then in Latin, the author being a physician in Ghent. The publisher of this English edition was Octavian Pulleyn, who also published Heyden's Synopsis in Latin, and other medical works. Wing, V63; Wellcome III, p.260.
