SIGNED Charles Lindbergh Presentation Edition of The Spirit of St. Louis, New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1953, bearing the First Issue point of Scribner's "A" on the copyright page. Signed by Lindbergh in black fountain pen on the presentation page, Charles A. Lindbergh, with number 446 noted in the limited edition of only 1000 copies. Lindbergh won the Pulitzer Prize for this account of his successful attempt of the New York-Paris flight that had claimed the lives of six pilots before him. With illustrated endpapers and photos throughout, bound in red cloth boards with silver lettering, the book measures 5.75" x 8.5'' and runs 561pp. This copy is accompanied by the original first edition pictorial dustjacket, evidently supplied by the previous owner. In Near Fine condition with no writings, bookplates, or markings of any kind. Book #Pv2303. $2200. We specialize in Rare Ayn Rand, history, and science.
