About This Item
8vo. London: William Reeves, 1830. 8vo, lxvi, 420pp. Illustrated with 140 descriptive woodcut vignettes. Later half calf over marbled boards, backstrip gilt-panelled; bound from the parts, with the original wrappers bound in the rear. Joints cracked but holding. § Third edition. The engravings, which are mostly derived from early manuscripts, include an image of a pair of 14th century players of 'bandy-ball,' which is clearly golf. Not a rare book but a pleasant copy seldom found with all the original wrappers intact and in perfect condition.
