Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. No foxing in this copy. Dust Jacket is in as new condition, apart from normal shop shelf wear - contains no tears or chips or other damage. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. A fine unread copy.. This book is available and ready to be shipped.. The story of her study and relationship with a cheetah that she called "The Spotted Sphinx". Joy Adamson remains one of the most famous and celebrated naturalists that the world has known. She gained fame by raising a lioness named "Elsa" the story of which was dramatised in a film "Born Free" that was a great success. The film had two sequels. She went on to study a number big cats, including Pippa, following the same method of training that she had used with Elsa before returning them to a wild environment. She was murdered in 1980 by an employee in a wage dispute. Ironically her husband a game reserve manager was killed by Somali pirates.
