About This Item

Silver Whistle, Harcourt, 2000. Hardcover. New. Greg Shed. We found this book fascinating. We knew nothing of its true story - Squanto is a native American who was friendly with the English explorers but was later captured and sold as a slave in Spain. He made his way to England, learned the language, and was later able to return to his home as a guide and translator for the English settlers. Every other page in the book is a colorful, handsome full-page illustration. This book is recommended for ages 6-12, but honestly, we think adults will also find this book educational and interesting, as we did - it does not read solely as a children's book. Every other page in the book is a colorful, handsome full-page illustration. Less common in hardcover. New, pristine.
