San Francisco, CA: Matson Navigation Company, 1957. Folder / Packet. Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Tall double pocket folder which holds the information packet from the 1957 annual meeting of shareholders of Matson Navigation Company for the SS Mariposa, for a special event held at Pier 35, San Francisco. The meeting inspection was held on March 21, 1957 and includes tours of the Promenade deck, boat deck, bridge deck, upper deck, main deck, and on "A" deck. Packet includes a schedule of the meeting times, the pamphlet explain how the passenger liners Mariposa and Monterey are the first two ships equipped with the Sperry Gyrofin Stabilizers, also known as Anti-Roll. In addition, there is also a four-page document explaining the history and features of the SS Mariposa and SS Monterey. There are also eight watercolor art designs which are examples of the upcoming menu covers for the voyages. The scenes include Hawaii, Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, Australia, San Francisco, and Southern California. Each one of these are foldout the inside explaining information about the art and location on the cover. There are no actual menus inside, just the folder showing the cover art. Some of these have small stains or soiling and the Hawaii one has a small piece of tape at the top. The blue folder itself is worn and bumped along the edges front cover has number/marks and even a small drink ring on the front. Bottom left corner is a small tear at the spine.

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.

We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.

Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. About Yesterday's Book Shop (Member IOBA)

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.

All of the book pictures were taken at the time the book was listed and we never use generic or stock photos in any listing. If you would like additional photos or information on any listing please let us know and we will be more than happy to comply.
