Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. No date, but circa 1888. Green gilt stamped cloth over boards, illustration of St. Bernard on front cover, color frontispiece with tissue of the St. Bernard, 132 pages, black-and-white illustrations, Index a 16 page Catalogue of Practical Handbooks by this publisher bound in at the end. Chapters cover origin and history, points, measurements, pedigree, breeding, rearing puppies and more. Corners and spine ends bumped with wear, covers scuffed, back bottom corner, bottom corners and bottom of spine wrinkled, end papers toned, interior pages lightly toned, faint damp stain at bottom edge near gutter.
