Biographical Notes ( Napoleon and Sir Hudson Lowe) by author. The diarist was Major Gideon Gorrequer, an aide-de-camp and acting military secretary to Sir Hudson Lowe, the Governor of St Helena during Napoleon`s exile. First entry - 3 June, 1817; last entry - August [ ? 1823 or later]. 267 pp. plus: Notes and Explanations, Index of Pseudonyms and their Identification, Index, Index of Ships. 298 pp. in toto. Blue cloth covered boards have as-new gilt text on spine, extremities show white spot, light wear at spine ends. Unclipped ( 55s/NET) DJhas edge/shelf wear. Bookseller's Inventory # 203262.
