About This Item
New York: The Century Co, 1902. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Octavo size , 582 pp. This volume includes six months of the wonderful St. Nicholas children's magazine, with the July issue containing the first published appearance of the short story "The Cruise of the Dazzler" (pp. 784-812).
___DESCRIPTION: Decorated red cloth boards with black and gilt designs, title in black inside a gilt shape with black and gilt patterns on the spine, rear board with ruled border in black, bevelled boards, pictorial endpapers in tan, lavishly illustrated with black-and-white drawings throughout; octavo size (9.5" by 7.5"), pagination: [i-iv] v-vii [viii-vix] 579-1152.
___CONDITION: Volume is good only, with a strong, square text block, solid hinges, the pages are clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; some soiling to the boards, especially to the rear board, which appears to be two spots of spilled ink, rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the corners, corners are gently bumped, and there is a faint, old dampstain to the fore-edge margins of the first fifty or so pages. We are rating the volume as good plus due to the condition of the binding, as the interior is clean overall with strong hinges.
___CITATION: Woodbridge #10.
___POSTAGE: Please note that this is a large and heavy volume, and additional postage may apply; please inquire for details.
