Binding tight and solid. An early story of John Paul Jones and the docks of the New World in the early 1700's of the "water front of a day that's long past; with the docks, the inns, the counting rooms; with the great square-riggers just in from deep water; with merchants and shipmen talking over their drink; with the chink of money; the barter and trade". EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
