This hefty work pays tribute to the hard-rock miners of Colorado. Profusely illustrated with views of mine sites and their remnants throughout by the author, professor of Fine Arts at the University of Colorado. With maps to mining camps at endpapers and within this work, which first appeared in 1949. The author begins her first chapter with "I am not a historian nor a writer but an artist gone slightly berserk." --- In tan buckram-covered boards w/decorations and titling in red on cover and spine. Lacks a dust jacket. --- With a few splotches of whitish soiling to front cover, else a bright, tightly-bound copy lacking interior markings.; Small Quarto - 9 to 11 in. tall; (12), 544 pages; Signed by Author .
