About This Item
New York: Farrar & Rinehart, 1934. Second printing. Illustrations by Cyrus LeRoy Baldridge. Very good copy with silver stamping still bright and with a trace of edge wear without dust jacket. Stars Fell on Alabama was Carl Carmer’s most famous work, and evolved out his observations of regional social life, especially racial relations, while teaching at the University at Tuscaloosa. Toward the end of his career, Carmer worked as a folklore consultant for Walt Disney Productions and produce a folklore radio series called "Your Neck o' the Woods" and produced four albums of regional songs.
