New York: EP Dutton, 1985. Very good in a near fine jacket.. Inscribed first edition, association copy, of this collection of Pauline Kael's NEW YORKER film reviews from 1983 to 1985. Inscribed to a fellow NEW YORKER writer, the dance critic Arlene Croce, who also reviewed films for Film Culture and was a recognized authority on the films of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. An attractive association copy. 9'' x 6''. Publisher's purple boards in original price-clipped dust jacket. xii, 404 pages. Inscribed by Kael on front free endpaper, "For Arlene Croce,/ with admiration/ and love-/ Pauline Kael." Touches of shelf-wear to jacket. Trivial sunning to boards at edges. Two torn pages torn at lower corners; one with tape repair. Interior otherwise bright and clean.
