About This Item
New York: Alfred A. Knopf. Fine in Fine dust jacket. 1971. First American Edition. Cloth. As the world spirals into a never-ending cycle of violence, Elliott and her husband, Matt, have found peace in their small town in Maine. But when Elliott's mother dies, she returns to Massachusetts to take care of her. While there, Elliott reconnects with her estranged sister, who invites her and Matt to move in with her and her husband. Elliott is hesitant to leave the peace and tranquility of her town, but when her sister is killed, Elliott realizes that she needs to find some closure before she can move on. She returns to Maine and gradually starts to rebuild her life. As she reconnects with her old friends and family, she also starts to see that the town is not as peaceful as she thought.
