Printed in 1913 by The Southworth Company. The 2 ringbound flip-style books are housed in a single slipcase. The two books describe 4 operations, with text and photographs.
Condition of the two books is Very Good. The bindings are sound. The hole-punched inside pages are securely ring-bound, with no repairs. Inside pages are complete and unmarked. All photos are present and unmarked (but a bit gruesome). The main condition issue is light soil to the outer board panels of the two books.
Condition of the slipcase is Very Good. It shows light wear to the exterior surfaces. The printed spine labels are present, but age toned in appearance.
The Stereo-Clinic series was published by Dr. Howard Kelly, presumably to provide documentation for new or unusual surgical techniques. The four operations described in this offering are:
1) Transplantation of the Peroneus Longus Tendon
2) Transplantation of the Biceps
3) Transplantation of the Extensor Proprius Hallucis to the First Metatarsal
4) Division of the Extensor Proprius Hallucis .... and Tenotomy of the Achilles Tendon
All four of these procedures were "authored" by Dr. Robert Jones, the Godfather of British Orthopaedic surgery.
Please message me with any questions. About the books. Accept my medical advice only at extreme peril.
