First edition of this collection of stories capturing everyday life for children growing up at the turn of the 20th century. . 8.25'' x 6.75''. Original tan pictorial cloth stamped in white, pink, and dark brown with scene of children smelling flowers. Illustrated by Mars and Squire with 15 full-page color plates. [8], 138 pages. Ink prize inscription "Second Prize for Attendance 1906" on front fly leaf. Short closed tear on top edge of page 3/4. A couple spots to boards, but overall fresh and bright.
