I cut my Sunday School teeth on this book when I was just a kid. It was one of my favorite books. I bought a used copy for my six greandchildren this year. We are reading it, again, just for fun. I was surprised that David did not call Goliath an "uncircumscised" Philistine, not did the book say that David got Bathsheba pregnant "out of wedlock". It gave a "Victorian" version of the story.....
