Mr. Van Loon has drawn for this book over one hundred and fifty black and white illustrations which are here produced with eight full page plates in color. Dark blue tinted topstain. Bind fine; hinges intact. Rare original blue pictorial wrapper, moderate shelf wear, chip; unclipped 1.00, protected in new clear sleeve. Front panel depicts Van Loon scene of giant pillars w/small entrance and figures in monochromatic silver. Extra-wide front and back flaps present a full, rich summary of this text. Rare near fine first edition thus in good wrapper. At back few pages is a rather throroughly condensed 3-page time-line of the Good Book utilizing animated strips w/blurbs.
