The book is based on previously written histories and interviews with pioneers and early settlers to the area. The book covers historical and local events up to the early 1900s. It was published in 1876, 86, & 91. Brigham's work was reprinted by the Morris County Historical Society in 1989 and multiple times thereafter, though this is the first printing under Lalla Maloy Brigham's name. 136 [2] pages. Soft bound in a thin leather cover with burgundy binder's tape over spine. Top cover is cracked along hinge at spine, though is held firmly by the binder's tape. Cover shows several tears, including a one inch loss of paper at the lower outside top corner. There is a non-author presentation inscription on the blank inside of the front cover.
