Orig. published in 1920, reissued posthumously by Lofting's wife in 1948, this is the 55th printing, in with the Introduction to the Tenth Printing by Sir Hugh Walpole, in 172 pages, with the author's original frontispiece & 32 other black-and-white illustrations & full-page, lightly colored glossy plates throughout the text. Hardcover book is an Ex-Lib copy with the usual markings & card pocket in front matter & stamps to outside page edges. Library binding consisting of sturdy blue cloth over boards with colorful decoration & lettering to front & spine. Small area on lower spine shows fading where old call number was, which has been carefully removed. Condition is Good+: generally quite clean, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white.
