About This Item
London: Harper Collins, 2015. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/N/a. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. The Story of Kullervo written by J.R.R. Tolkien. Published in 2015 by Harper Collins, this is the 1st impression of the 1st UK De Luxe Edition in Near Fine condition. No faults whatsoever. The book is housed in the publishers slipcase stamped with the detail from the illustration 'The Land of Pohja', also by J.R.R. Tolkien. From the blurb, "Kullervo son of Kalervo is perhaps the darkest and most tragic of all J.R.R. Tolkien's characters. 'Hapless Kullervo', as Tolkien called him, is a luckless orphan boy with supernatural powers and a tragic destiny." This De luxe Edition is matched in style and design to the 50th Anniversary De luxe Edition of 'The Lord of the Rings', and The De luxe Hobbit that were concurrently issued in 2004. Also matched to the De Luxe Editions of The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, Tales of the Perilous Realm, and The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun, Unfinished Tales, and Beowulf. Digital photo's available, inquire if interested. Other Tolkien books available, include both the UK and US editions, original cloth bindings, custom fine bindings, and Signed/Numbered/Limited Editions. Near Fine / N/a.
