Undated volume (circa 1950s) telling the story of evolution of living things, written and illustrated by the English artist Eileen Mayo (1906-1994). Foreword by Professor Julian Huxley. 306pp illustrated throughout with excellent colour drawings. Bound in navy faux leather. Gilt design and lettering to spine, blind stamped publisher's motif and leaf decorations to top board. Top edges tinted. Some bumping to spine and corners, small tear to front pastedown and inner hinge pulling between pages 192 and 193, otherwise good copy with no inscriptions..
