Two-tone quarter cloth and boards, titles stamped in gilt on the spine, red front and rear endpapers, xviii [3], 370 pp., acknowledgements, illustrated from photographs, references, index. A critical biography of Kipling focusing on the writer's literary and wandering searches for a refuge to replace the lost Indian Eden of his childhood. Kipling was born in British India, a place which inspired much of his work. Remainder mark on the under side of the volume else a fine copy in dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends and corners.
