About This Item

Last Gasp of San Francisco, San Francisco, 2013. First Edition. Hardcover (Printed Boards). Very Good Condition. Illustrator: Suehiro Maruo. Purple coloured end pages. The first four pages of the book have been printed in full colour. The book has been written and drawn by Suehiro Maruo; who, also drew the coloured illustrations for the covers. Gilt coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Please note that the book has been printed in the Oriental fashion – meaning that the book starts at what most Western people would consider the rear panel. This story was originally serialised in Comic Beam from July 2007 to January 2008. Based on a novel by Edogawa Rampo, and tells the story of how a failed novelist, Hitomi, assumes the identity of an industrialist, who dies, and, who he has an uncanny resemblance to – taking over all aspects of dead Industrialists life – including his wife. " ... Hitomi redirects the family's wealth to his own perverse aims, and built for himself and island playground of hedonistic excess – replete with waterfalls, grand palaces, and gardens, and decadent beasts, orgies, and dark secrets." – from rear panel blurb. A little rubbing of the book corner and to the panels. Light tanning of the text block edges and pages. First English Edition. Size: 4to. [4], 5 - 272, [4] pages,.
