On September 15, 1971 it was performed as 'Pictures in a Bath of Acid' at the Leeds Playhouse, starring Alfred Burke as Strindberg. It played as 'Strindberg: A Psychological Portrait' in New York three years later and again in 1975 as 'Strindberg: A Fool's Decision'. In that same year a production was staged by the Mercury Theatre Company in London under the combined title of 'Strindberg or Pictures in a Bath of Acid'.
