New York: D Appleton & Co, 1896. Book. Illus. by Text Illustrations and 3 folding plates, all present. Near Fine. 3/4 Leather. 3rd Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. This is a new binding, dark blue goatskin with marbled boards and mathing hand marbled endpapers. Raised bands on the spine and red title labels with bright gilt lettering. Inside, clean and tight with no prior owner signative. Top edge gilt. Handsome copy. Third edtion with an Appendix by Prof T.G. Bonney. A more important book with our coral reefs now stressed by climate change. .
