Reprint, after the 1872 first edition. Beginning as a humorist in the late 19th century, David Ross Locke took on the pseudonym "Petroleum V. Nasby" in a series of letters entitled the "Nasby Letters." In them, he impersonates a Copperhead and Democrat in his support of the Confederacy.
