London: Jonathan Cape, 1926. First UK Edition/1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. The second book by the author of The Worm Ouroboros. In black cloth with gilt to illustration and type on spine. Blindstamped coophon on rear board. Some rubbing/wear to spine ends with a few spots of rubbing through to heel and nicks to head with tiny chip and loose flake. Pages tanned with lovely design motif to endpapers. Light foxing to same and first couple pages. Edge tears to Table of Contents and dedication pages where pages were attached. Clean with solid binding. Charming period publisher promotional postcard and advertisent pamphlet. Deckle edge. Scarce in Jacket which is unclipped(7s. 6d. net) with small chips at spine ends, corners and one to top of rear panel which also has 1/2 inch jagged tear with creasing. Some spotting and tanning(mostly at spine).
