New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1966. First edition. 8vo, 307pp. Signed and inscribed by Owens to his editor, Richard Kennedy, and dated in 1966 on the title page. Publisher's green cloth in illustrated jacket. Near fine copy in like jacket with a few small edge tears and rubbing.

Sharp copy of this autobiographical work from Texas author, William A. Owens (1905-1990).  Owens recounts his growing up in poverty in Pin Hook, Lamar County, in a one parent household after the death of his father just after his birth.
