About This Item
This is an extremely rare first edition of the great preacher, teacher & lecturer, Rev. A. M. Fairbairn, with a 1880 copy write & 1882 printing—rare! In this exquisite 359 page hardback volume, he covers the Person and Work of Christ from birth to the resurrection. Fairbairn wrote, preached, and lectured with untiring persistence and was chairman of the Evangelical Union in 1870. In 1872 he moved from Bathgate to St Paul's Congregational Church, Aberdeen, where he won a great reputation as a preacher and lecturer on philosophical and theological subjects. His first book, Studies in the Philosophy of Religion and History (1876), immediately proved that he was a forceful religious teacher. In 1877 Fairbairn became principal of Airedale College, thus transferring his religious allegiance to English Congregationalism. While at Airedale he evidenced great church leadership and became chairman of the Congregational Union of England and Wales in 1883.
Good++. Very limited amount of underlining, notations & marks that does not affect the text. NOT ex-Library. There is a name written on FEP & another name on Title page but no ExLibris. Binding tight, hinges strong. The dark blue textured covers with embossed border design on front & back, show shelf & reading wear especially along edges & top & bottom of spine. The pictures depict the actual book you will receive. Countries other than USA will require additional shipping cost. Ships with Tracking Number!
