Farrell's famed trilogy (containing Young Lonigan, Young Manhood of Studs Lonigan and Judgement Day) complete and unabridged in this single volume. This is the story of a young Chicago Irish man who struggles greatly during the early part of the 20th century. Includes two introductions: one by the author and one by John Chamberlain. This work was named to the Modern Library list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century. --- In Toledano spine G4 / blue cloth / gilt titling on red spine blocks / gilt-stamped ML torchbearer on front cover & spine / faded red topstain / volume lacks the dust jacket. Likely published c.1938-1944 (though 1934 date appears in volume). ML #G41.1. --- A Good-only copy, with general dulling to covers and cover gilding, prior owner's bookplate affixed to to front paste-down, and light tanning to leaves. Binding remains sound. Note: A loosened front hinge has been repaired on this item.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; xv, xii, 201, 412, 465 pages .
