VG-/No Jacket. 13.5 Cm x 21 Cm. vii+279; ex-Northwestern University Library with their 'withdrawn' stamped label on front pastedown and 4 stamps to end pastedown, blue number stamp at bottom of p.v, very faint number bottom spine and 'Core Library' stamps to top and bottom text-block edges - no other markings and otherwise clean, tight and unworn in very clean and unworn covers, The lib. markings are fairly inoffensive and of limited impact. A significant monograph for historians of linguistics and topics such as the 'universal grammar' project of the period. Main figures covered are Monboddo, Condillac, Horne Tooke, Sir William Jones and the early 19th century English phiologists. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
