[nice clean copy, no discernible wear, would be Fine but for the previous owner's initials and date & place of purchase written in ink along the edge of the inside back cover; the book is encased in a (removable) plastic protective cover]. Trade PB (B&W drawings, facsimiles) An examination of the Great Detective's drug use, which is alluded to numerous times throughout the original Conan Doyle stories. Includes "a reiteration of the chronology of [Holmes's] professional life as related the drug" (with indications of which stories contain drug-related references), plus a bibliography of books on cocaine and a listing of "the principal contributions to the literature of Sherlock Holmes and cocaine." .
