Until May 1991 David Miller was a serving officer in the British Army, a career which took him to Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, the Falkland Islands, and Holland, and which has included service in the Royal Corps of Signals, several staff assignments at Army headquarters and the command of a regiment in the United Kingdom. On leaving the Army, he became a full-time author specializing in military and technical subjects. He has contributed numerous articles to defense journals on subjects ranging from guerrilla warfare to missile strategy, and is the author of a number of books.
