INSCRIBED by the Author on the title page, 8vo, black 1/8th cloth with gold lettering on spine over blue boards, archival mylar-protective cover over pictorial dust jacket (unclipped) depicting a Viking standing before dragon ships framed in stained glass by Boscover, black endpapers, 251 pages. SUPERIOR CONDITION: tight, bright, clean cloth and comparable dust jacket (unclipped). No remainder marks. Edith Mary Pargeter, OBE, BEM (1913 - 1995), aka "ELLIS PETERS," was an English author of history and historical fiction. She was also honoured for her translations of Czech classics. She is probably best known for her medieval-detective series The Cadfael Chronicles.
