Near Fine book that is a touch loose at spine and with very slight fading of gilt lettering on spine; in a Fine minus dust jacket that has mild curling along edges both panels. This was the late Gardner's fourth novel. A small town Police Chief and a magician known as the Sunlight Man butt ideological heads in a number of dialogues – side stories provide plot background.
