Author not listed, but Rudolf Erich Raspe (1736 â 1794) was German writer credited with this classic adventure tale, and Rapse is discussed at length in Thomas Seccombe's introduction. The translator is unnamed. Navy blue leather cover deeply sun-bleached spine and board edges.Gold lettering & decorative borders. Gilt textblock edges. Sound binding. Marble print end pages. 'Preface to The First Edition' is reprinted. (XIV intro + 299 pages)
