About This Item
New York: Albert & Charles Boni, 1929. First Edition. Very slight lean, discreet pencil ownership inscription on the front pastedown, placed to be hidden beneath the jacket flap; near fine in an excellent example of the scarce dust jacket, just a bit faded on the spine, with a touch of rubbing to the extremities and a small triangular chip to the upper rear corner. 8vo, 285pp; original orange cloth. Kahane, writer, publisher, and founder of the Obelisk Press, wrote several novels under the pseudonym Cecil Barr, this being among the earliest. A very scarce book, especially in the dust jacket, which features marvelously risque artwork by Constantin Aladjalov.
