Indiana Society of Chicago, 1912. Deluxe Limited Edition. Flexible covers. Good. 16mo, 53 pages ; full green suede leather with the metallic inlay of the Society's medallion, green satin front pastedown, marbled endpapers; fragile ooze leather worn, some fading, top cover detached.
This is copy no. 57 [ of a reported only 100 Deluxe, signed sets, known as The Hoosier Set ]. Signed by Major on the limitation page. After the first edition by Bobbs-Merrill, in 1911, this was issued as volume no. 10 of the set of 12 volumes, that had been issued in red cloth, for members of the Indiana Society of Chicago, with other titles by Gene Stratton-Porter, Meredith Nicholson, John T. McCutcheon and others.

Joyce And Company has been in business as a professional rare bookseller and appraiser since 1975. Owner Thomas Joyce was the regular book appraiser on Home & Garden TV\'s \"The Appraisal Fair\\\" program, on international broadcasts. Thomas Joyce was the co-discoverer of George Washington's personal copy of William Leybourn's 1679 edition of THE COMPLEAT SURVEYOR, from which young Washington learned some of his surveying skills at age 16. The book had vanished for nearly a century until its re-discovery in 2017. It is now back at Mt. Vernon.
