About This Item

Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press, 1951. First Edition. Cloth. Good. First Edition. [10, [1]-278 pages. Publisher's original blue cloth gilt. Dampstaining to the binding and stain to rear panel. Clean internally, noting remnants of paper affixed to rear pastedown, and previous owner's name (Peter F. Strong) on front pastedown. Lacks the often missing dust jacket. Cloth. Volume XXVII of the Annals of the Computation Laboratory of Harvard University. Based on Aiken's course of lectures "Organization of Large-Scale Digital Calculating Machinery" taught during the spring term of the 1947-48 academic year at Harvard.

The present copy was owned by Peter F. Strong, a staff member of the Computation Laboratory and recognized as a collaborating writer with Aiken on Reports #8, 13, and 16 of the series Progress Reports of the Computation Laboratory. A nice association.
