London, Methuen, [1905]. 8vo. Original cloth; pp. [viii], 363; internally light spotting at beginning and end, spine a little faded, otherwise very good. Uncommon first edition of a first-hand travel narrative covering Moab, Jericho, Madaba, Mshatta, Amman, Galilee and Samaria, with Nablus, Samaria, Haifa and Carmel, Nazareth and Tabor. Ada Goodrich Freer (1857–1931) was a British folklorist and psychical researcher who in 1901 went to Jerusalem, moving on in 1911 to Cairo and wrote a couple of books on the Middle East.
