About This Item

London: Frederick Warne. Good+ in Good+ dust jacket. 1903. Early Reprint. Hardcover. Circa late 1910's printing. Jacket lists to The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse, published 1918 and advertises "The Latest Novelty" Peter Rabbit's Race Game (1917). This early jacket design is based on the original end paper design with advertising on both flaps. Full-page color illustrations throughout. Covers show wear, mostly at corners and spine ends. Single sheet, color-illustrated end pages. There is a gift inscription, dated 1922, on front pictorial end-page's verso. Otherwise, a fairly clean text showing a few scattered smudges. The jacket is 95% complete with small amounts of loss at the corners and a piece missing and the top center of the front cover. There is also wear at all jacket edges and folds. ; 24mo 5" - 6" tall; 85 pages .
