Word Books, 1983. Hardcover. Fair/Near Very Good. Sturdy book, dark blue covers, spine very slightly slanted, very bright gilt lettering on spine, 216 pages. Light wrinkling to pages 187-196, no stain. On all of first front end paper in dark blue ink: "For the Major who I will always remember as the ultimate captain--Special Forces U.S. Army--and who when I was a fresh 2/Lt. set the example of who I should be--and as the story herein tells I tried to be--Thanks, my friend, for keeping me alive. Bob Van Buskirk, Capt. Ret." DJ beneath mylar, color-illustration of red sky and grass, green beret illustrated above orange title, photo at bottom back in uniform. DJ has very slight surface wear at tips, 1/4" tear and crease at top back edge, pages 199-216 separate at inner hinge but kept in place by final end papers. Near Very Good DJ/Fair book.
